The Thayer Life: WHAT'S THAT?!?

Why we farm....

1) God said, "I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so. Genesis 1:29-30

Unfortunately....

"Cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; and you will eat the plants of the field; by the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground". Genesis 3:17-19

2) We raise our own animals for meat because we disagree with commercial factory farm practices, such as:
* use of antibiotics and other medicines on a daily basis
* raised in windowless building
* overcrowded and unsanitary conditions
* no or little access to the outdoors
* no or little pasture to graze
